Cornwall Plate & Cup:

A fantastic day at the Cornwall County Cup & Plate finals hosted by Penzance Hockey Club saw 4 of our teams through to battle it out for glory.

Our Men’s 1s were up against Truro Men’s 1s in the Cup final. An 11-goal thriller kept the crowd fully entertained but alas they were just pipped to the post with a flick awarded to Truro in the last couple of minutes which sealed their 6-5 win. A brilliant performance from both teams after a very successful season.

Next up, our Ladies 3s faced the home side Penzance 2s with another goal-fest provided for the spectators! Caradon took the lead with Penzance putting on the pressure to level things, even subbing their keeper towards the end but a great fight saw a 5-3 win for Caradon, and Plate Champions!

After enjoying the sun and entertainment the Ladies Cup final was the last game of the day, and very much a home derby with our 2s taking on our 1s, both deserving Finalists.

The 2s took the game straight to the 1s creating early chances, but some good passages of play saw the 1s come out victorious with a 7-1 win to crown them County Champions and Cup winners for 2025.

A huge thank you to our hosts, all the players, umpires and supporters who travelled for the day to enjoy some truly spectacular hockey.

England Hockey Competitions:

Men’s 1’s narrowly lost to Kingswinford in the quarter finals of the EH Cup

Mixed team made it to the England Hockey Tier 1 quarter-finals, narrowly losing 5-4 to Trojan’s.

Mixed County Cup:

Congratulations to our Caradon Mixed team, who retained their County Cup Champions title with a 5-1 win over Penzance!

Mixed Summer League:

A fantastic campaign by our mixed teams in the Tina Phillips Summer League, with both our teams grabbing their division titles following the last games on Wednesday night.

Caradon Lions finished on a high, winning Prem in dazzling style; while Caradon Tigers remained undefeated until the end tearing up Division 3. Well done all!

Junior Section Highlights:

Thanks to Sam for a great job leading the coaching team this year, supported by Julia, Laura, Clare and many others. The junior section continues to grow, with 71 members at the close of this season. It is wonderful to see so many older juniors giving back to the club by volunteering as coaches for the younger players. We are so lucky to have such polite, helpful and dedicated young coaches inspiring the future stars.

We were able to enter two U8 teams with children as young as 5 playing.

Excellent Country representation; Lily, Lila, Jess and Kerenza playing for U17’s girls, Sam and Ben representing U17 boys securing top spot in the South West League with a goal difference of 22 from 6 matches.

Tiegan organised a fantastic mixed interclub tournament for U10’s - U14’s

Thank you to Lynsey for organising another fantastic Junior EOS - it was wonderful to see so many children in attendance, happy to receive their medals and supporting their team mates during the awards ceremony.
