10-4-10 Cheque Presentation Evening
Posted by Helen Manley on 22 January 2019
Thank you to everyone who organised and attended the 10-4-10 Presentation Evening on Saturday.
It was great to hear from each charity how the money the Club raised last year will go to help each cause, and a pleasure to have the Mayor of Liskeard Christina Whitty also in attendance to help present the cheques.
Caradon celebrated our 10th anniversary with 10 events raising money for 10 charities - with our final total being just over £8,500!
It all started with a launch night quiz followed by a bingo night in Dobwalls, Christmas fancy dress hockey match, a fantastic concert put on by Caradon player Charlie Harris, a pub quiz in St Neot and the delicious Big Breakfast morning in Menheniot. Into the summer months, 19 Caradon members ran the Plymouth Half Marathon while family and friends joined in walking the 17 miles from the former Essanians pitch in Saltash to Caradon's home pitch in Liskeard. The final two events were an incredibly successful Hockey World Cup Festival at Lux Park, as part of the build up to the Hockey World Cup which took place in London in July, and the draw for the 10-4-10 Raffle.
Beneficiaries from Caradon's 10-4-10 were: Cornwall Blood Bikes, RNLI, Macmillan Nurses, Ellie's Haven, Teenage Cancer Trust, British Heart Foundation, Children's Hospice South West, Cornwall Air Ambulance, CHICKS and SportsAble.
Special thanks for Glen for coming along and taking photos.
