Caradon Men's 2's win the league! Caradon welcomed Duchy 3's who were struggling to get a team together and so utilised some 1st team players who didn't have a match this weekend. This was all discussed before the match and so there were no surprises. It actually made the game far more enjoyable and a lot closer than it would have been. Caradon eventually triumphed 2-0 with goals from Jon P-R and a cracking solo effort from Joe Stewart. It was end to end stuff but despite being bolstered in defence and mid-field Duchy lacked finishers. This result puts Caradon out of reach for the other teams in the league and gives us the promotion that we really do deserve. So fantastic to be able to play with this extraordinary group of guys who work so well as a team and have won every single match this season. Sadly our goal tally does not show quite how dominant we are in the League table as it does not record goals against development squads but even without this huge number of goals our official tally is still two and a half times more than the next closest team. Worth mentioning that Ted Dyer continually frustrated the Duchy aeriel thrower by intercepting all but about two of his best efforts. Our defence was rock solid and rarely troubled and everyone else on the pitch did their jobs well. Not a clinical result today but we got the job done! Jake Horton won MotM for playing on his 30th Birthday and DotD went to Tom Turpin for shamelessly munching a huge pasty at half time which seriously interrupted the team talk. Piran 2 Champs - Piran 1 here we come.
