Match Report |
Caradon Men's 2's travelled to Marjons to face Plymouth Lions 4's. We came away with a very satisfying 11-1 win rocketing us to the top of the table. The 2's have won every game this season and are looking forward to the final 3 matches. We dominated from the start and throughout with a combination of slick accurate passing, strong defence, a formidable press and taking our chances when presented with them. Martyn Bevins scored 4 goals taking his tally to 14 goals in the last 3 matches alone, Ted Dyer our player of the match tackled like a legend, intercepted brilliantly and scored 2 great goals, Jake Horton also scored 2 and despite carrying an injury from training was still probably the quickest man on the pitch, Jon P-R added 2 to the total and Ben P-R scored 1 great goal. Our defence were excellent even though 3 of the 4 don't normally play there. Joe Stuart displayed sublime skill on the wing and Elliot Grange was always in the mix battling hard and running a huge distance with the ball. Their single goal came from an awkward deflection off Toby Riddle which landed perfectly for their centre forward to hammer home. Martyn Bevins earned himself DotD despite his impressive tally for scoring brilliant goals but missing a couple of sitters. So proud of this group of guys today who received multiple compliments from the opposition for sportsmanship and for the amazing quality of our play.
