Match Report |
Caradon Men's 2's hosted Bodmin 3's in a development game. The final score was 12-0 to Caradon. Caradon used this match as a training match trying to work on various aspects of the game that have been focused on in training. This largely worked and Caradon were able to put together some great passages of play working the ball around several players before passing to a striker in the D. There was much selfless play with players thinking first and foremost about 'team' rather than self. Caradon didn't have a lot to do defensively with Keeper Riddle only needing to competently make 2 saves. Goals cam from Martyn Bevins scoring 3, 1 of which saw him make his way through the D finally forcing the keeper to commit before calmly stepping round him and stroking the ball home. Jon P-R scored 3 all of which were goal-mouth scrambles, Ben P-R got 2 including 1 lovely shot from the top of the D, Mike Parkinson got 1 after a lovely pass from Tom Turpin and slotting the ball between the keeper's legs. Tim Wright scored a beautiful deflection of a penalty corner, Liam Champion calmly flicked 1 in over a commited keeper and Elliot Grange scored a lovely reverse stick sweep perfectly into the corner of the goal. Sam P-R showed great poise and effort throughout supplying lots of great crosses. DotD went to Tom Turpin for a late arrival after a big night out and feeling a little tired and emotional throughout. MotM went jointly to Jake Wright for blistering running and overall commitment and a land mark first 2nd team MotM for Jon P-R for being a plucky scrapper. A comfortable win before a real test next weekend.
