Match Report | Ladies 3's faced an away trip against St Austell today, a notoriously tough match. They had the best possible start when 33 seconds in, a trademark Claire Brown crash ball was met by Lila Johns on the edge of the D, who deftly slipped it to Charlotte Tamblyn to loft it into the roof of the net, taking St Austell by surprise. Caradon capitalised on this advantage 9 minutes later, by converting a short corner, which was neatly finished by Johns. Unfortunately Caradon were caught out by a St Austell short corner routine and a breakaway goal by their pacey forward making it 2-2 at half time. It wasn't to be Caradon's day as St Austell found another 2 goals in the second half. As hard as Caradon pushed and drove St Austell into their own half, we just couldn't convert our own chances. Despite the end result Caradon 3's should be proud of the teams flexibility, composure and desire to win the ball. Player went to Lila (keep eating those jam sandwiches for breakfast) and Poo went to Anna, for driving to Plymouth, when we were playing in Truro |
