Women's 1st XI Vs Plymouth Lions 1

Caradon welcomed local rivals Plymouth to lux park and put on a dominant display to win 3-1.

The game started perfectly for the home time when within 5 minute Bizzie Jeffery finish off a good move by scoring from a powerful shot. Caradon were playing the ball around well and creating lots of chances which if it hadn't been for the Plymouth keeper pulling off some amazing saves the scoreline could have increased very quickly. Caradon has to wait until mid way through the first half until Abi Ingram scored Caradons second. A cool reverse stick shot finding the bottom corner. 
At the half time break Caradon looked confident as Plymouth were yet to have a shot on goal but the visitors started the second half much stronger. Breaking down play and stretching Caradons defence for the first time they were awarded numerous penalty corners and despite them mostly being defended brilliantly, a high deflection found the roof of the net to bring the score to 2-1. 
This seemed to reawaken Caradon who started to compete for the ball again. Molly Walsh put in a player of the match performance to control the midfield and Clare Mitchell was at the heart of creating chances. 
Caradon restored thier 2 goal advantage when Jeffery converted a well worked penalty corner and all that was left was for the home team to run down the clock. 
Another dominant performance but Caradon will need to increase their focus when they face league leaders Falmouth away next week.
