Women's 3rd XI Vs CSoM 1

Ladies 3’s travelled to Penryn this afternoon to face CSoM. We came away smiling after a 5-0 win.  Kerenza found the oppositions foot in the first five minutes within the D and Caradon were awarded a short corner.  This wasn’t to be, but after a further 10minutes a second short corner gave Caradon their first goal.  Five pings around the D and Lila made sure it went past the keepers feet.

On minute 21 Kerenza made a run up the wing with speed and Lila was first to pounce on a loose ball to find our next goal. 

Captain Rach worked hard to direct play forward, adding pace and energy.  It was clear to see the opposition were good at holding their shape. Caradon on occasions reacted by making it a little harder than needed.  A team talk by Claire at half time and we went away feeling more settled. 

Play was quick and relatively even. A  short corner to Jo who was ready with a straight strike on target bouncing of the keepers pads.  It wasn’t long however when Jo stepped forward again and found the back of the net.  The fourth goal came from Nicola (yes me, you read right!!!).  Followed with the final goal from Kerenza in minute 65.

When CSoM broke they looked dangerous but the back line stayed calm and ensured no goals got through. Nice work Nes, Lily and Abbie. Some great hockey today in the Cornish Sunshine, now time to put our feet up and watch some strictly.
