Match Report

Caradon played some fantastic hockey against Exeter in a high quality match and can't quite believe how they didn't bring home any points.
With both teams showing thier quality it was Exeter who took an unexpected lead from a penalty corner. Caradon were enjoying 90% 0f possession and creating good chances on goal but a combination of bad luck, good defending and assured GK saves Caradon went into the break 0-1 down.
The second half was much of the same. Midfield duo Hannah Bladon and Molly Walsh were in complete control and chances continued to rain down on the vulnerable Exeter goal. Caradon got their deserved equaliser when player of the match, Walsh,  dispatched a powerful drag flick into the bottom right hand corner.

Exeter were now hanging on to a point with the Caradon forwards hungry to score. Attempts at goal went either just wide, hit the post or defended off the line. With the clock ticking down it looked like the points would be shared only for Exeter to steal the win when a lose ball in the circle was poked home.
Despite the loss, Cardin remain positive on their style of play and chances created. Next week they entertain Bristol University at lux park.
