Women's 2nd XI Vs St Austell 1

Caradon made their final away trip of the season down to Truro to face St Austell as they aim to close up the season maintaining their unbeaten run.

With a slightly changed line up and positive pre-match Captain's chat, Caradon started the game strong with a few opportunities to test the goalkeeper with open play and short corners.

Not every decision went their way and this was clearly frustrating the visitors and this frustration turned into stick tackles and sloppy passes. St Austell had a quick attacker on the counter and it was one of her runs into the D which won them a short corner which they converted. Despite going into the half time break a goal down, Caradon took on their momentum from this season to get back into the game.

However St Austell nearly had a chance to double their lead when a foot on the ball wasnt given and only Kerryn Walsh was alert to keep playing and stopped the shot. 

Caradon needed to turn their frustration into fire and Helen Manley picked up the ball and ran the back line slipping a pass to Laura Hill on the spot who scored the equaliser.

Both sides were getting feisty, it was surprising neither team saw a card. Caradon had further chances with Abbie Fulford's chance disallowed for being too high and Laura Hill just off target after racing round the keeper.

Caradon did all they could do considering the situation and grabbed a point, securing them the top spot in Trelawney 1 with 3 games left to play. They will hope to return to winning ways next week as they return back home to face Penzance.
