Women's 1st XI Vs Team Bath Buccaneers 2

After a great performance last week, Caradon took to the pitch full of confidence and started the game playing some fast paced hockey. Playing the ball through the phases, Caradon looked the more likely to score and had some good chances well saved. 
The team press was working well and Bath were struggling to get any momentum with the hard working Abbi Ingram breaking well with Clare Mitchell to break down play. Mid way through the first half, Bath failed to clear their lines and an in form Jess Berry pounced on a loose ball and beat the advancing keeper from a tight angle. 
Caradon continued to play some great hockey. Beth Harris and Libby Walsh we're finding good space on the wings and always looked in control. 
At the start of the second half the weather took a turn for the worse and both teams struggled to contend with the weather. Bath scored early on and this visible unsettled the home team. It was now Bath pressing hard and despite resolute defending from Emma Gliddon and Daisy Hunn, Bath stole the ball in Caradons half and beat the keeper with a cool finish. 
Caradon worked tirelessly to create chances. Daisy Heal put in a player of match performance but just couldn't find the space to beat the good Bath keeper. 
With everyone pushing forward to find the equaliser, Bath capitalised with a break away goal. The rain continued to cause problems for both teams and flowing hockey was hard to find.
As the clock ticked down Caradon, despite all their effort, had to accept defeat.

There is a break week in the league  next week, time to regroup and continue to work on the training ground to prepare for a trip to Bristol University where they continue to search for the points they deserve.
