Match Report

Caradon 2s took a short but early trip to Plymouth Marjon 3s at the start of a month packed full of fixtures and plenty of points to pick up.

The first 10 minutes felt frustrating as Caradon had possession but couldn't quite finish with a goal. However their determination and communication following a brilliant right wing run by Charlotte Harrison found Laura Hill on the P spot to slot home. The visitors knew once they had one goal they could step up and start to play how they know they can and have done all season. One two passing and wing runs on a slick and quick pitch gave them the upper hand and it wasn't long before Laura grabbed her second.

The pivot partnership between Kerryn Walsh and soon departing on her travels Neve Hunn who will be missed, worked well to stop any chances Marjons had to break.

Caradon were now finding holes in the defence and after a few chances from some brilliant crosses by Claire Brown, Abi Fulford showed dedication to the cause and scrambled the ball across the line ending up face down on the pitch to make it 3 before the break.

After the half time talk, Caradon wanted more goals but the second half was a bit more stop and start. Frustrated by some decisions not going their way, tempers started to show and after one green card was shown, Caradon had to calm things down and simply keep the ball.

The frustration was put to good use, as Laura Hill finished her hat trick following a short corner pass to her at the top of the D. The force of the strike hitting the back board so hard it bounced back out, fooling some supporters to think it had hit the post!

Playing the final minutes out, Caradon kept possession and nearly had another two goals but the score remained at 4-0.

They travel away again over the river next week for a top of the table clash with Plymouth University in the hope of extending their points lead over the student team.
