Match Report |
An excellent win for the men's 2's today against an inexperienced Duchy team. The first 10 minutes were largely even and it took a blistering flick on a short corner by Mike Parkinson which slammed into the top of the net to change the balance of the game. This broke the deadlock and spawned the Parkinson onslaught. He repeated the short corner flick minutes later bamboozling the keeper and adding our second. Two more Parkinson goals came in quick succession and put us in a very comfortable position. Notable play from Ben P-R consistantly put Duchy under pressure and had the defence rattled. Caradon sported a strong and experienced defensive line which held off the Duchy strikers. I was particularly pleased with performances from Fenton Robins, Isaac North and Isaac Moulds who aquitted themselves admirably. Isaac North earned himself man of the match for his awarness of his team mates, strong passes and increasingly confident tackling. Both Sam P-R and Joe Stewart controlled our wings and Ted Dyer and Mike Parkinson were rock solid in the midfield. It was excellent to see plays from the training field making their way to match play. Caradon's final goal in the second half came from a team effort culminating in Freddie Seeva selflessly slotting the ball to Jon P-R for an easy tap in. Duchy did manage to score once from a bizarre looking shot that surprisingly turned into a back of the net rocket. It is worth mentioning that this was a sporting match with great conduct on both sides and it was well umpired and controlled by Jan and Jules. Well done boys, a great start to the second half of the season.
