Match Report

The restart of the second half of the season saw unbeaten Caradon 2s take a trip to Truro to play Newquay 2s.

With some players unavailable, a slight reshuffle in the starting line up saw a few players out of position but as with each game this season they came out fighting for the team.

They started well, pressing forward to get that first goal and it wasn't long before Charlotte Harrison managed to get something on the ball in a crowded and frantic D area, eventually getting the ball over the line after her determination. The strong command in the middle, Neve Hunn was controlling play from the back to the front and a long ball found Laura Hill who picked up the ball with ease, slotting past the keeper for her first of the day.

Clearly in the mood for goals and with one eye on the top goalscorer club trophy, Hill added to more to her tally before half time. Both classic strikers goals, side stepping the defence and smashing the backboard. 4-0 up at the break.

With the likes of Marcia Burgess and Kerryn Walsh in strong defensive mode through the middle, Newquay few attempts to break threw were stumped out. However it did take an impressive solo run and strike from a young Newquay winger to grab them one for the afternoon.

With Caradon playing some lovely to watch hockey, wing balls, 1-2s and passes wit positive intent, the short corner opportunities also came. Laura Hill with a top of the D strike made it 5-1 and with only 2 minutes to go she was almost egged on my her team mates to go out and hunt for a few more! She did so, cleverly finishing off with two very similar goals in true 'Tux' style taking it around the keeper to finish - in doing so also bagging herself Player of the Match for an astonishing afternoon.

With the final score 7-1, the team can be proud of how they adapted in some out of position roles. They head back to Lux Park next week to face Truro in an early

pushback.
