Caradon entertained bottom of the table Gwent and were frustrated to only take a point.
The game started with Caradon on the front foot and they created several good attacking moves but could not secure the final ball to the forwards and the Gwents goal remained unthreatened. Returning player, Beth Harris was winning battles in the center of the pitch and this led to the first goal of the day. Daisy Heal latched on to a loose ball in the circle and calmly beat the keeper to give Caradon a deserved lead.
The visitors refused to give in and increased the physicality of the game, winning several short corners in the process. Captain and defender Amy Batty cleared 2 goal bound strikes until the final play of the first half saw Gwent equalise form a well worked corner.
Caradon began the second half with renewed energy. Player of the match Libby Walsh was making some good forward runs on the left and created numerous chances. Balls were missing the goal by inches and numerous efforts on goal were either well saved or missing the crucial deflection. To rub salt into the frustrated wounds Gwent scored a second from another penalty corner to take the lead.
Caradon continued to push and it took a specail Clare Mitchell goal to equalise with ten minutes to play. A powerful drive into the circle before a viscous reverse stick shot found the back board.
The game opened up with both teams pushing for a win. Caradon had the better of the chances but the winning goal eluded them and both teams had to settle for a point.
