Match Report

Caradon travelled to the west national stadium in Cardiff and lost to a quality Penarth team. With a depleted squad due to unavailability of key players, Caradon knew it was going to be a tough day. Penarth sit nicely at the top of the West Premiership and are looking to return to the national league at the first attempt.

Caradon were rocked when Penarth took the lead within 1minute. Heads could easily have dropped and despite the early onslaught and Penarth racing to a 4-0 lead, Caradon continued to compete and gradually started to get a foot hold in the game.
Helen Delbridge was making some outstanding saves but the score was 6-0 at half time.
Caradon came out at the second half, still with the belief of getting more possession. Player of the match, Abbi Ingram, was having a great game in the center of the pitch and it was her assist at a penalty corner that gifted Jess Berry with her first goal of the season.
Penarth are a team full of exceptional players and they continued to pile pressure on Caradons defence, scoring another 4 goals before the final whistle.
Despite the scoreline Caradon can be very proud of the way they continued to fight for each other and never let their heads drop. Losing to the better team and learning things to improve thier own game will pay dividends as the season continues.
The 300+ mile round trip is made possible by the continued support of Bond Timber who are spinsering the teams long away fixtures this season.
