Despite the 4pm pushback, Caradon 2's later pushback away against Truro was still a warm one on an unseasonably hot October Saturday.

Riding high on last week's result, the team were keen to get an early goal making the ball do the work in the heat. Co captain Laura Hill's return to the squad made an instant impact scoring after a well worked short corner routine. It wasn't long until the score was doubled as Katie Fear's determined run rewarded her making it 2-0. 

Truro were a young, energetic side who were afraid to battle but chances were put out by the back line of Nicole Harding, Marcia Burgess and Annie Williams with goalkeeper Lynn Oxenham touching the ball just once the whole game. The travelling side found themselves 3-0 up at the break after another Katie Fear special.

With the temperature not diminishing, Caradon were grateful for the rolling subs and it was great to see Natalie Ridgers back causing the Truro defence trouble after returning from injury. Kerryn Walsh and Neve Hunn were steady in the screen, with the latter putting through two brilliant aerial passes to the front players. 

The midfield of Carina Hodge and player of the match Lauren Gouge worked tirelessly in supporting the attack and running back and their play got the ball to Hill for her second of the day. Right of midfield Helen Manley was next on the score sheet hitting hard and low into the bottom corner to make it 5. 

Although fully in their groove, Caradon were keen for the final whistle after a hard afternoon's work but weren't quite finished until Abbie Fulford's strike from the top of the D following another well worked short corner finished the game 6-0 to the visitors. 

The twos welcome Marjons to Lux for their next game as they aim to continue their superb start to the league campaign.
