Match Report

Saturdays's match was a heated battle in hot october conditions as the 4s faced off against a young, energetic CSM university team that had recently fallen from the league above. The heat was on in more ways than one, and the first half scoreline of 2-1 in favour of the away team accurately reflected the intensity of the game.
Unfortunately, the second half proved to be a tough challenge as our opponents launched a rapid succession of goals, with multiple penalty corner chances from Caradons sticky feet ending the match with a final score of 6-1. Despite the final outcome, our lone goal was a classic, coming from a beautiful solo performance by Sarah Strevens. She executed a dive and reverse slam into the backboard, leaving spectators cheering.

The defence worked tirelessly in the sweltering conditions, and Deb Johns made a number of excellent saves. Goalkeeper Josie Fasey made saves left and right to keep us in the game. On the wings, Issy and Liv displayed remarkable strength, holding their ground and preventing the university players from breezing past them.

In recognition of their outstanding efforts, the joint Man of the Match honors went to GK Fasey and Browner (Strevens).

While the heat may have tested the home teams endurance, it's clear that their team spirit and determination remain unshaken. Next week they’ll regroup, learn from this experience, and come back stronger in the next match.
