Match Report |
Not a huge amount to say about today's 2-1loss to Truro 5's Development team for the men's 2's. A bright and enjoyable first half seeing Caradon with the majority of the play. Ben P-R was supplied with the ball from Liam Champion just in the opposition half and then dribbled the ball past several Truro players and slotted the ball confidently past the non-plussed keeper. This was the last goal for Caradon even though there were other opporunities. Caradon started the second half full of confidence but sadly this was not warrented. 2 relatively soft goals were conceded and for the first notable time this season, heads dropped and we found no way back.Toby Riddle made some great saves throughout the match ensuring that the gap between the sides was not greater. Ben P-R was denied his second as he was shouldered off the ball in the D but it was not deemed sufficient to award a flick. Isaac North had a very positive game in only his 3rd appearance for the men, showing that he is growing in confidence and will be pushing for selection next season. Isaac shared the man of the match honours with Ben P-R this week. Well done to both, Muppet of the match went to Rapper...just because. Not our ideal finish to the season but a finish never the less. Here's to next year, building from what we have learned this season. Well done to all who were involved in this enjoyable season and our solid finish in the top half of the table. It has been a priviledge to captain this great bunch of guys and every single player should be proud of his development over the last several months. Thanks so much to all of our umpires (Mark and Jules today), Cliare Poad (coach, manager, inspirational speaker, disciplinarian etc etc) and to our very loyal and encouraging supporters/transport executives.
