Men's 1st XI Vs Ashmoor 2

Men’s 1st XI travelled to Totnes to play Ashmoor 2s in a mid-table clash. With many of the regular starters out this week, the formation had a little bit of a shake-up. 

Caradon got off to a bit of a turbulent start as they struggled with the slow grippy pitch and new roles. Weathering the storm for the first 10 minutes Caradon started to play with confidence going forward and they were rewarded with the opening goal of the game converted by Evan Spencer. 

This didn’t last however. A tricky run from the Ashmoor centre midfielder found a Caradon foot in front of the goal winning a penalty flick. Dan Harris made himself big but the striker found the bottom corner. 

Refocused Caradon pressed forward again. After multiple entries to the D Caradon managed to send a sweaty goal home after bouncing off multiple sticks before Harrison Pollard tapped the ball over the line. 

2-1 at half time Caradon were feeling in control. Without much pressure on the defence Caradon, the team could push forward and press their back line. Despite lots of opportunities, Caradon couldn’t find the goal. It took a well-placed short corner from Tyler Walsh to score the 3rd. 

With 5 minutes to go, Ashmoor found a bit of space to attack Caradon. The composed Dan managed to save several shots in a row after being relatively inactive for the first 65 minutes. 

The final whistle brought an end to the game with Caradon winning 3-1 in an unorthodox Caradon style. With two games to play Caradon find them selves in the top half of the table.
