Women's 3rd XI Vs University of Plymouth 2

Epic effort from Caradon Ladies 3’s as they left Lipson 2-1 ahead against Plymouth Uni 2’s.

As Caradon stepped onto the astro joint captains Sharon Jeffery and Abi Larigo motivated their team and encouraged them to give it 100%. With the season drawing to an end they were keen to remind players to give a strong performance but remember to smile and enjoy every minute. 
 

Plym Uni opened up the scoring much to the delight of the lively side line supporters.  Fair to say the young home team were well coordinated but they couldn’t stop Jaynes Longrigg goal in minute 40. She picked up the ball in the D passed a defender, worked her way around the keeper and reverse pushed the ball to the back of the goal.

Plym Uni counter attacked with Caradon keeper Anna Gubbins kicking out three attempts, strongly taking the ball away from danger. Lynsey White a key member of the 4's team stepped up and certainly added experience and energy to the game.

Quite a few cards were flashed about on both sides, meaning on a few occasions both teams were down to 10!  Legs were tiring, several red faces and some puffing but it was clear to see Caradon dug deep! 

Minute 63 seen Jo Maudsley successfully bag Caradons second goal. So from here the team tried to stay cool, keep the ball and as the back line kept shouting - Yellow shirts!  Despite Plym Uni best efforts they were unable to catch up, the whistle blew and Caradon proudly walked away winners.
