Women's 1st XI Vs Teign 1

Caradon bounced back from last weeks defeat with a comfortable 5-0 against Teign at Lux Park on Saturday. 

Caradon started strongly, creating some good phases of play and pressurising Teigns defence. Top scorer, Bizzie Dinnis, opened the scoring with a smart finish past the helpless keeper and Caradon notably began to show more confidence on the ball. Libby Walsh was having an outstanding game on the right hand side, linking well with her fellow midfielders and forward players. With the play switching from side to side Teign were stretched and it wasn't long till Caradon made it 2-0. Lucy Lee-Smith forcing the ball over at the far post to finish a well rehearsed penalty corner. 
Half time came and a chance to rest a few players carrying injuries. The squad adapted well and with a player of the match performance from Clare Mitchell the team continued to play thier passing style of play. Beth Harris broke down any threat towards goal and working with Molly Walsh in the center of the pitch, Caradon were in complete control. 
Dinnis scored the third with a trademark solo run and tomahawk finish before Mitchells' hard work was rewarded with a goal, a strong sliding finish to find the back board. 
Emma Gliddon and Daisy Hunn were encouraged to push forward from thier defensive roles and created good chances in the circle. Molly Walsh dispatched a smooth drag flick to complete the scoring and secure the three points. 
The team's positive attitude and great work ethic will need to be present next week when they travel to play Newquay next week, a fixture that has a long history and is never straight forward.
