Caradon travelled to ISCA looking to extend thier winning streak but were well beaten 3-0 by a talented and physically strong team.
With a couple of key squad players unavailable there was a slight change in the normal formation and Caradon looking uneasy from the start. The home team were awarded a penalty corner within the first 5 minutes and they found the bottom corner with a smart drag from the top of the circle.
Caradon did a slight re shuffle and started to look more balanced. Lucy Lee-Smith was making in roads in the center of the pitch but the forwards were struggling to get enough of the ball to create any real threat on goal.
ISCA were playing some good hockey and Caradon had to work hard just to get some possession. Another penalty corner was smartly converted to leave Caradon 0-2 down at half time.
Caradon tried to up the tempo with Saffy Cripps putting in a player of the match performance but ISCA stood firm and denied any real threat on their goal.
A defensive mix up at the back gifted ISCA thier third goal and effectively the win but Caradon showed good composure not to implode. Keeper, Helen Delbridge made some sharp saves to keep the score respectable but Caradon were well beaten by the better team and can have no complaints with the final score.
The league leaders will now have to regroup and push on for the final 5 games of the season. Losing is an unfamiliar feeling to this team but lessons will be learnt and they will look to bounce back when they take on lowly Teign at Lux Park on Saturday 2pm start.
