Match Report

Caradon Ladies 3’s came away with a draw against Truro 1’s team on Saturday. It was an energetic game that ended 3-3. Not just a league game, this doubled up to be a cup game too, so as you can imagine tensions were high at Lux Park. Sticks in with a loud and proud 'Sha-radon' shout out gave the team the motivation to go out guns blazing.

With a well played assist from Jo Maudsley seen Kerenza Bunt pop in Caradon's first goal. In open play Jayne Longrigg gave her legendary smash on goal and it seen the yellow shirts 2-1 up at half time.

Caradon were a little unsettled in the second half allowing Truro to level up. Player of the match Jess Berry added her magic and strength.  Caradon soon found their form and shape again and continued to entertain their home supporters.  A cross from Jayne Longrigg seen Jo Maudsley create an epic third goal, socking it top of the net. Moments before the final whistle Truro were awarded a short corner which they took full advantage of.  Disappointingly for Caradon the game ended 3-3.

Captain Abi Larigo bravely was the first to step forward when the challenge of flicks came about. Being a draw, to finalise the position of the cup stages a clear cut result needed to be established.  Excitement and nerves kicked in but Caradon keeper Anna Gubbins kept her cool and kept out the Truros first shot on goal.  Truro came away celebrating, but full credit to Caradon who were determined until the end.

Best of luck ladies for your final two league games.
