The men's 2's travelled to Bull Point today. We were soundly beaten 5-0 and if truth be told probably deserved this and maybe even a couple more. The team did not gel today and from the first whistle we just looked a bit flat. We did not recognise many of the Devonport team from our last encounter which was a touch concerning but we just need to take it on the chin and not whinge or moan about it. Despite the fact that the umpires on the whole seemed pretty fair, tempers were up from the start. A few howlingly bad tackles, notably on Mike Parkinson set the tone and there were several verbal exchanges throughout (apparently, even the mild mannered captain was involved...) which didn't help our team to focus. I think that we could all hold our hands up after today's match and highlight several things that we did wrong but I hope that we have all learned from it and now all have things to work on for next time. There were a few bright points and great commitment from Joel Tamblyn saw him receive player of the match and further encouragement can be taken from Freddie Seeva's performance as each game and practice session sees his performance improve. Sam P-R received a closely contested DoTD for allegedly hitting himself in the chin with his stick... Time to re-set now boys and return to Bull Point next week and show them how Caradon can really play.
