Women's 3rd XI Vs Marjons 3

The ladies 3’s worked exceptionally hard against Marjons 3’s. Caradon were satisfied to walk away with a draw after what was a fairly even game and finish on equal points. But sadly their opponents popped in a second goal in the final four minutes and the game ended 2-1 to Marjons.  The Plymouth home team were experienced and well rehearsed in attacking and defending situations.  But Caradon were equally so after thirteen weeks of technical coaching from first team captain Clare Poad.
 

Jayne Longrigg was awarded Caradons only goal from a short corner strike and a bit of help from the defenders stick. Abi Larigo's quick reaction saved a goal, followed by cheers from the yellow shirts. This early morning match was full of excitement and the wintery conditions did not dampen any spirits on either side.
 

The second-half with no subs and tired legs Caradon dug deep and picked up the pace dominating play.  Kerryn Walsh had a great game and deservingly picked up player of the match.  Thanks to Leah Rowe and Anneliese Shannon for stepping up and adding real strength to the team.  Great to welcome Beth Schratz who showed an abundance of energy and skills in her first game for the Club. With ever increasing numbers to both juniors and seniors squads, Caradon are always pleased to welcome new faces.  The clubs ethos to encourage all players to play to their highest ability in competitive games, whilst remembering to smile and have fun.

Fair to say all players, umpires and spectators were in for a wet and gruelling day as the Amber weather warning swept across the South East.  But hockey is not for the faint hearted and it's clear to see Caradon are committed and determined whatever the forecast!
