Match Report

A top end of the table clash between 2nd and 3rd in Trelawney 1 was always going to be a tough affair and with two evenly matched teams, a draw was probably the correct result.

Both teams started strong and were obviously going out for a quick first goal as it started very much end to end. Caradon appeared to have the more possession but Bodmin when given their chance had quick turnarounds to attack the visitor's D.

One of these counters resulted in the first goal - scored by Bodmin, but being early in the game, Caradon knew they had time to get back their run of the game. The midfield line of Lauren Gouge, Natalie Ridgers, Carina Hodge and Abbie Fulford worked their socks off to support the attack and get back to help defend. Caradon won a short, and a slick routine between Laura Hill and Abbie enabled Laura the space to strike low to equalise taking them into the break.

The second half was frustrating, Bodmin had very few shots on goal and Caradon had many opportunities but just couldn't quite get the rub of the green and that final touch. Frustrations on both sides came in the form of stick tackles and one particular chance on goal that was denied by a Bodmin defender clattering into the Caradon forward, but nothing came from the umpire.

The game ended in a stalemate but Caradon can be happy with their dominance of the game, it just needed that winning and deserving goal. They must keep this momentum as they face top of the table and unbeaten Duchy at Lux this weekend.
