Match Report | Caradons Men's 2's put out their youngest team to play Truro 4's who had a similar make up. Without the elder statesmen running the midfield, Caradons stand in captain feared they would be a little lost but Drew Champion and Ben Reynolds were more than up to the challenge. The teams were very evenly matched but Truro did give our guys an early scare, when a defensive error gave them a clear shot on goal. However Ted Dyer swept in and cleared the ball easily, giving the back line time to regroup. Caradon took control of the second half, dominating Truro and pinning them back in their own half. Urged on from the side line by Clare Poad in her role as coach the youngsters played some of their most confident hockey. The chances came thick and fast but even though the ball made it through to Sam Pennington Ridge on the post he couldn't quite get it in the goal. Despite their best efforts and Truro's poor discipline Caradon just couldn't get the win and though this is a little disappointing the hockey they played was fantastic! |
