Match Report | The second Cornish head-to-head of the season, Caradon away to Truro. After a delayed, wet start, Caradon took to the front foot. Despite a couple of breakaway attempts, Dan managed to keep Truro quiet.
The opening goal of the game came through Evan and Luke working the ball between each other down the right-hand side and finding Fasey’s stick for a deflection into the Truro net. Caradon didn’t get to enjoy their lead for long, Truro getting the ball to an open player who manage to convert the goal from a tight angle. Truro carried their momentum and managed to take the lead in the game through a well-executed short corner routine. Caradon continued to have the better of the chances but failed to put another on the scoreboard before halftime.
The second half saw both teams come out to take the game. Opportunities came, Caradon hitting the crossbar and putting the rebound wide. Truro missing a tap-in at the back post. Caradon’s persistence paid off, dispossessing the centre back in the D the ball fell to Tyler who took two bites of the cherry to beat the keeper and level things up 2-2. Tyler then gave Caradon the lead after scoring from a short corner on our new routine’s debut.
Caradon looked comfortable leading the game and controlling the pace, but to finish things off Finn decided to hit a rebounded ball over his shoulder into the netting, putting the game to bed 4-2. |
