Men's 2nd XI Vs Devonport Services 3

Caradons Men's 2's faced Devonport Services 3's this Saturday going for a better result than the previous week's goal fest. Caradon took control from the start but failed to find the back of the goal with most of the shots being slammed straight into the Services keeper. With the pace of the game slower than last week's it took a while for our boys to score and the first goal would take quite a bit of effort on Martin Bevins part, to battle through most of the services midfield and defence and slot the ball into the goal. The first half continued with Devonport making little to no headway in the home teams half, there was a sight pause to proceedings after the Devonport keeper took a well struck shot to his box.

Caradon looked even stronger in the second half dominating the game and for the most part Devonport seemed resigned to their fate. Martin Bevins would bring his tally for the day to four, Devonport would net a consultation goal when a well worked training routine connected with an unmarked player on the far post for an easy tap in. Mike Parkinson would add to Caradons with a cheeky backwards flick that beat the rather annoyed Devonport keeper, sneaking in between the post and his out stretched toe. 

Though it wasn't the highest scoring game, it was a great display of confident, controlled hockey from Caradon.
