What a match today. Playing against arguably probably the best team in the league and we managed to secure a 7-7 draw. We knew that it was going to be tough but we started very brightly with a goal from a short corner. This only spurred on the opposition and it was not long until they were 3-1 ahead. The match then proceeded with us catching up only for Services to go 1 ahead. They were winning until the final 2 minutes but sadly lost a player to initially a green card, upgraded to a yellow for unspeakable cheekiness… We were able to capitalise on this and scored our equalizer in the dying seconds. I could not be more proud of the team today – not a single head dropped for a single second ! I could list the whole team for notable performances but special mention should go to Drew Champion for silky skills and great commitment, Tobes for keeping the score a lot lower than it could have been, Joe Stewart for continual improvement, newly married Joel for his tireless efforts and Martyn Bevins for just being a legend. Goals – 4 from Martyn and 3 from Jon P-R with amazing support from the rest of the team. A true team performance today – a draw that felt like a win! Well done.
