Match Report | The energy at Lux Park on sunny Saturday was high as ladies 3’s faced 2’s. You could sense players were on edge as they knew they had to compete against their hockey friends within the same Trelawny first division.
With their game faces on, both teams held equal possession in the first quarter. Defending players Kerryn Walsh and Charlotte Harrison blocked many driving balls and held position making it hard for 2’s to find their first goal. In fact the 3’s marked tight, communicated well and stayed strong meaning the 2’s had to wait until the 50th minute for their first goal.
In the last quarter as the 2’s accelerated Player of the match goal keeper Anna Gubbins kept out many attempts including a penalty flick and several short corners. Player of the match for the 2’s Laura Hill put away a tidy hat trick and the game ended 3-0.
Neve Hunn youngest player on the 2’s team plays pivot with confidence and style. Wishing you a very happy 18th birthday for next Tuesday Neve from all at Caradon.
This was a proper fun family day out for those supporting from the sidelines. A great example of the warmth and support surrounding this incredible club. |
