Match Report |
Caradon played their last home league game of the season and won 10-1 over bottom of the league Camborne school of mines.
The home team started with a great tempo and almost immediately won a penalty corner where Emma Gliddon finished off a well practised move. Soon after, Saffy Cripps took a well taken goal and Bizzie Dinnis claimed her first of the match to give a comfortable lead. The students did grab a consolation with their only chance on goal but it was Caradon who were in complete control.
The whole team were playing with a real confidence and enjoying the space they were allowed. Captain, Clare Poad, scored after good work from Dinnis and then roles weee reversed for Dinnis to make it 5-1 at the break.
The phases of play were quick and precise and chances were being created in quick succession. Poad tapped in after a good advantage played by the umpires before Spencer scored her second when firing home, high into the net.
Emphasis was now on getting players who had yet to score through the season,to get their names on the scoresheet. Defenders Julia Eldridge and Daisy Hunn were pushed forward and both obliged with well taken goals to make the final score 10-1.
Daisy Hunn claimed the player of the match award, not just for her goal but her faultless display of defending at right back.
This week Caradon travel to Kingsbridge with the hope of completing an unbeaten season, and with the team playing in great form they should be confident in achieving this.
