Women's 2nd XI Vs Falmouth 2

Caradon Ladies 2s welcomed undefeated table toppers Falmouth 2 to Lux Park in what was their third meeting of the season following the drenched and abandoned cup game during Storm Eunice a few weeks ago.

With their experiences of playing them so far this season, the home side knew they were in for a tough game against a slick side and despite their best efforts to maintain control for the first 10, found themselves 2-0 down early in the game.

Shaken but not out, Caradon had a chance and won a short corner which was slotted away after a smooth routine of their own as player of the match Carina Hodge slipped to a waiting Laura Hill to hit home. 

The rest of the half didn't give Caradon many more chances, an onslaught of Falmouth attacks led by a skillful midfielder who made play and opportunities put the visitors up 5-1 at the break.

The second half was a much better performance from Caradon, calming down and letting the ball do the work rather than running around and panicking with aimless hits. Falmouth still had their goes on goal but with goal line saves and strong clearances in the defence meant they only managed to score one in the last 15 minutes.

Caradon grabbed one of their own as a brilliant team goal worked from the back, across the midfield with every player getting a touch to finally find Natalie Ridgers on the post to touch in past the sliding keeper. 6-2 the final score.

Caradon have two games left to play this league campaign as they look to hold on to 3rd place in Trelawney 1.
