Match Report | Caradons Mens 2's travelled to North Cornwall to play Bude in the winter sunshine. Bude asserted their dominance from the start pouncing on a lose ball sailing through the Caradon circle, reversing the direction to beat the keeper and claim the first goal. For the remainder of the first half Bude continued the onslaught against Caradon, with our lads struggling to contain them. After a stern half time team talk Caradon looked like a different team at the restart, Ben Pennington-Ridge playing in his first senior League game was causing trouble for Bude in the midfield. Joel Tamblyn had such a work rate he was a constant thorn in the side of the Bude forwards, earning himself man of the match. Bude had been some time without a goal and had somewhat of a rude awakening, when their keeper was caught playing with a back pass. Concentrating on the ball he was tapping between his feet, he didn't see John Pennington-Ridge barrelling down on him. With the keeper caught completely off guard John was able to jab the ball through his feet into the goal, knocking the keeper to ground to add injury to the insult. This rouge goal seemed to wake Bude up and despite their best efforts Caradon couldn't stop them from increasing their goal tally. The final score of 14-1 to Bude is overly flattering to Bude and isn't a reflection of the effort Caradon put in. |
