Match Report | Caradon ladies 1st team celebrates promotion from Divsion 2 with a dominant 10-1 win over Tiverton. Despite the obvious gulf in quality of the two teams, Caradon struggled to find their groove and it wasn't until mid way through the first half that player of the match, Saffy Cripps finished of a good move to break the deadlock. This was the catalyst for Caradon to begin to play their passing hockey and Tiverton were left chasing shadows. Bizzie Dinnis converted a penalty flick and Clare Poad scored to make the score 3-0 at half time. Since forming 15 years ago, Caradon have pushed for promotion but have always just fallen short. With a team consisting of 5 U21 players who have progressed through the successful junior programme at the club, this team have won the league at a canter, so far undefeated and scoring a massive 96 goals with still 3 games to play. An amazing achievement and one that will continue to be celebrated for the remaining games in both the league and county cup campaigns. |
