Men's 1st XI Vs Plymouth Marjons 3

Caradon hosted Marjons 3s at Lux Park. The game got underway and Caradon set to work from the off. Applying pressure they forced mistakes from the Plymouth team’s defence. 

Despite several attempt of target Caradon failed to take the lead, then a ball struck the foot of a Marjon player on the line and the award penalty was coolie dispatched Martin Batty. 

Caradon were now in the flow of the game but failed to make the most of their chances including an open goal opportunity. Marion attacked back, the ball hitting the Caradon backboard,  a couple head dropped. Soon after they lifted when the umpire signalled the ball had not been touched by an attacking player in the D. It was the wake up call Caradon needed!

Soon after a well worked ball from the middle of the pitch and a quick one-two around the advancing keeper saw Thomas Rowe bag the second goal for Caradon, followed shortly by a well excited short corner from David Fasey to put Caradon 3-0 up going into half time. 

Second half carried on much like the first, Caradon pressing high and turning the ball over in the Marjon half. The Plymouth keeper did his best to keep Caradon out of the goal but the constant attack bore fruit. David pounced on a cross D pass and opened the scoring in the second half. 

Chris Fasey then turned the keeper on the base line slipping the ball behind him and Finn Andrews slotted home a pull back pass from the base line to put Caradon 6-0 up. The Caradon work hard going forward and took a bit of a beating on the ball, but with the final whistle blowing Caradon won the game with a clean sheet.
