Women's 1st XI Vs Plymouth Marjons 2

Caradon took on in form Plymouth Marjons and were held to a 1-1 draw at lux park on Saturday.

Fielding a full squad, Caradon started the game  confidently, but it was clear that the visitors were going to make Caradon work really hard for everything. Clare Mitchell was finding small pockets of space and it was her work that enabled striker,  Bizzie Dinnis, the opportunity to score the opener with a clever finish.

Caradon continued to push for another as it was clear 1 goal would not be enough but the Marjons keeper was having the game of her life, saving numerous goal bound shots from the hungry forwards.

As half time came, Caradon hit hit the post and had shots cleared off the line so the team talk was one of patience and more of the same.

Midfielder Saffy Cripps was having a great game and continued to push the team forward. Beth Harris denied any break away chances with another solid performance in the centre of the pitch and player of the match Molly Walsh worked timelessly all over the pitch.

Mid way through the second half, Marjons were awarded a penalty corner and the resulting shot was adjudged to have hit a foot on the line and a penalty stroke awarded. The experienced Marjons player calmly converted leaving Caracon pushing for the winner. They threw everything towards to desperately defended goal but it just wasn't to be and Caradon had to settle for a point.

Marjons will think themselves very lucky as Caradon were clearly the better team and had it not been for thier outstanding keeper, the score could have been quite different.

Second placed Okehampton are the visitors to lux park next week it what could prove to be a vital 6 pointer.
