Match Report |
Caradon ladies4s played an away match against a youthful Truro 2s on Saturday 15th January. Caradon forwards and midfield, consisting of Strevens, Rowe. Wilton, Maudsley, Scott, Lockett, E Hedley & P Hedley, dominated the first 30mins of the game, but despite this they couldn't get the ball past the Truro goal keeper. That was until Emma Hedley, made an absolutely cracking shot from the top right hand edge of the D and found the back of the Truro net. 1-0 to Caradon. The goal seemed to spur the Caradon players on and they continued to press the Truro defence and attack the Truro goal but again, the ball seemed to hit a deflector shield each time. Tempers flared a little between players and a Caradon player was unfortunately awarded a yellow card on 46 minutes. This meant that they would be playing with only 10 players for the next 5 minutes. This fact only seemed to encourage Caradon to attack the Truro D and 2 minutes later, Pippa Hedley scored a lovely reverse stick goal from just inside the D. The Caradon defensive team of Hambly, Lockett, Quick and Dudley did an awesome job of keeping the Truro team from having many shots on goal, so that Goal Keeper Gubbins had little to do. The final score was 2-0 to Caradon 4s, which was well deserved by the players. Player of the match went to Erryn Lockett.
