Match Report

Caradon re started their league campaign with a comfortable 8-1 win over Plym Valley.
After last weeks friendly win over league above Penzance, Caradon started confidently. Good phases of play were created and it was only a matter of time until the deadlock was broken. Youngest player on the pitch, Saffy Cripps, finished a nice penalty corner move and continues to show what a bright hockey future she has in front of her.
The second goal came soon after and really was a thing of beuty! Starting from defence, the ball was shifted from left to right and moved quickly up the pitch with one or two touch passes. The move was crisply finished by Bizzie Dinnis much to the applause of all spectators and players from both sides.
Dinnis then scored what can only be described  as a 'worldie', a reverse struck dipping just under the crossbar.
Caradon were now playing completely in the groove and produced wave after wave of attack. Molly Walsh brilliantly deflected a penalty corner to make it 4-0 and just before the half time whistle, Dinnis completed her hat trick when volleying in a GKs rebound.
Plym valley continued to play their long game and were rewarded with a goal of their own when their lone striker took her only chance of the game.
Caradon continued to pile on the pressure with Player of the match, Libby Walsh pulling the strings in midfield. Clare Mitchell was linking well with her fellow forwards and was rewarded with a goal of her own. A shot on goal deflecting of a Valley foot. Winger, Ellen Spencer, was keen to get her name in the goal sheet and smashed a viscous shot low and hard into the bottom corner.
The last goal, and play, of the game came when Mitchell again saw her shot again deflect off another defenders foot into the goal.
Playing some of their best hockey of the season, Caradon look forward to travelling to Tavistock on Saturday. The reverse fixture was a very tight game so nothing will be taken for granted.
