Women's 3rd XI Vs Plymouth Marjons 3

Ladies 3’s picked up a win against Marjons 3’s taking away the 3 points they set out to achieve. A powerful short corner straight strike from Jayne Longrigg in the first half sure rattled them! Our defensive back line worked hard to block out their key players. Influenced by our calm and collected keeper Emily Joyce meant MJ just couldn’t find the back of the net.  Mid players Abi Larigo and Kirsty Merrin were full of energy and pace, never failing to track back and help out. 

It was touch and go in the last quarter as MJ looked fierce in the D.  Thankfully Carina Hodge quick reaction avoided a near goal as she stepped behind the keeper to stop and clear a dangerous ball.  Whilst sister Nicola Batten ran first to block all defending short corners.  The clubs 96 year young supporter, the Fabulous Freda Arthur will for sure be pleased to read about the teams win and both grandaughters work on the pitch!

It was equal possession throughout, but Caradon kept their calm and the whistle blew ending the cold and blustery game 1-0. POM this week deservingly goes to Sharon Jeffery.   A big thanks at this point for all your support, coaching and efforts behind scenes! It is very much appreciated by the entire team.

Great way to wrap up our 2021 league games so far, but let’s not get too festively comfie as we still have two cup games to nail  next month!
