Match Report | Cardon 2nds hosted Bude 1st team at Lux today. A big reshuffle of the pack again brought on a difficult encounter with Bude playing some very nice hockey resulting in a 6-1 loss for Caradon. Caradon played some decent hockey to start but it became apparent that stand in captain and goalie Mike Parkinson would have his work cut out for him as the Cardon back line worked hard to stem the attack minded Bude side, producing some fine saves. Unfortunately we went down after 15 minutes to a dubious goal where soon after 2 more followed to end the half 3-0. Cometh the second half where Caradon had rallied to produce a fine succession of attempts on the opposition goal where finally a cracker of a shot was purposefully deflected in mid flight by Daniel Harvey. Immediately Bude switched back on to their organised round the back playing and scored a further 3, causing great frustration for Richard Tamblin at center back. Superb shifts put in by all, special mentions to Ted Dyer and Ben Reynolds, and for Mark McCartney for stepping up front. Man of the match was Liam Champion, top draw defending at right back and broke down countless attacks! Thank you to Jules Walsh and Jan Woodman for umpiring.
