Match Report |
Caradon 4s went in to this match against Truro 1s expecting to get severely beaten by opposition, who had played 5 matches, scored 42 goals and conceded none. As it happened luck was on Caradons side, as Truro started the match with 11 outfield players, in stead of 10 and a goalie, as the keeper, was stuck in traffic. Caradon took advanatge of this and scored 2 goals within the first 4 minutes, one coming from Lynsey White and the second from Jo Maudsley, which definitely shocked their opponents. The goalie arrived and Truro went back to 10 outfield players. Truro pulled back 2 goals in the first half and the score line was level at half time. The second half, both teams attacked and defended well. It was little fractious at times and a Truro player was awarded a green card and spent sometime on the sideline. As the time ticked down on the clock, Caradon defended and defended each attack on their goal, Anna Gubbins making some masterful saves. Unfortunately with about 10 minutes left to play, Truro put one in the back of the net to make the final score 3-2 to Truro. Although a loss for Carardon, they can hold their heads high, as the scoreline was not as Truro would have expected. Player of the match went to Emma Hedley. Thank you to umpired Lauren Gouge and Martin Batty.
