Match Report | This week the Caradon ladies 3s set off to Plymouth to play against OPM 1s. Our 2s had played this team the previous week so we has been given a bit of an insight of what to expect. We set up a more defensive side, having 4 defenders instead of 3. Due to covid, one of our key players had to pull out due to staffing issues at work, so we went with 11. With no subs, it was going to be tough. When the starting whistle blew, we were on it. Our captain had won us first push back so we were in control. Unfortunately OPM managed to get the ball and were awarded a short corner not long into the first half. This was executed lovely putting them into the lead. It wasnt long before they were awarded another which again with accurate passing and very well rehearsed play, they managed to execute. 2-0 The half time whistle blew and we changed it up a bit, releasing one defender - Charlotte Harrison - into midfielder who played a gorgeous game of hockey and bagged herself player of the match. We also pushed one of our youngest players - Kerenza Bunt- up to a forward position who stepped up her game massively and showed us all how skilled she really is. After a good few shots on goal, and 2 short corners, Caradon could just not get past OPMs strong defense and goal keeper. Unfortunately it was not long before OPM scored another from a 3rd short corner. Ending the game a 3-0 win to OPM.
