The ladies 3s went out against a fit and impressive Falmouth team today at Lux Park. Expectations were low but we were eager to get going. In opening minutes of the game Falmouth showed us exactly how talented they are with a lovely goal. 0-1. We kept going, chasing after the ball, throwing in some lovely tackles and making some super passes and we really took Falmouth by surprise. After winning a short corner, we discussed tactics and Jayne had a lovely strike on goal but sadly it was defended. Soon after came another short corner, we discussed again, changing it up to try and navigate through there solid defense. GOAL. A beautiful strike from Katie Johnston saw us level. 1-1. It wasnt long before Falmouth got one up on us again and put themselves back into the lead. 1-2. After half time we came back, ready to fight once more. Falmouth were in form and their fitness levels did not drop, however we began to tire. After several short corners, amazing open play and team work, Falmouth managed to secure many more. Caradon did not stop, however, and closed the gap with a lovely goal from Kerryn Walsh. Our defensive line was strong, and in particular Sharon saved our bacon many times, rightly being voted joint man of the match. The final whistle blew and Falmouth had won. 8-2.
