Match Report | Caradon took all three points in a relatively straight forward win against Marjons second team in Plymouth on Saturday. In the blazing sunshine, Caradon started strongly. Attacking straight from the whistle and putting pressure on the Plymouth teams defence. Claire Mitchell found lots of space to feed the ball to captain, Clare Poad, who turned her defender and powered a strike that found the backboard. This opening goal gave the Cornish team confidence and they began to find lots of space all over the pitch. Player of the match, Beth Harris, was switching play and with Emma Gliddon and Libby Walsh combining well on the right lots of chances were created. The lead was eventually extended just before half time when Bizzie Dinnis scored a special solo goal. Starting just inside her attacking half she took on several defenders, rounded the keeper and still managed to score from a very tight angle. Caradon travel to in form Okehampton tomorrow hoping to continue own good form and welcome back missing players to the squad. |
