Match Report |
The last time these two sides met it was the week prior to Lockdown 1, when OPMs won 8-2, so it was ironic that the next time these met would be before Lockdown 2! OPM started the game strongly and put Caradon under pressure from the start however Caradon held firm at the back for the first 20 minutes. Caradon continued to hold firm and with an attacked defended looked to break on the right only for the ball to strike an OPM foot. The foot was not spotted and the momentary pause by the defence enabled OPM to mount another attack which finally broke the deadlock. Just before half time OPM extended their lead and it looked ominous for Caradon but in the second half they play far better using the ball more intelligently and had the better opportunities to get the next goal only for the finishing touch to desert them. George Rowe continued his fine run of form which saw him win the man of the match award for the second game running but despite the bulk of the chances Caradon just could not score the goal that would set up the grandstand finish. Next games, who knows where and when!
