Women's 3rd XI Vs Penzance 2

Is this the last league game now pre Xmas? IF it is the Ladies 3s played a game to remember with some great hockey and for this relatively new team they showed a lot of trust, excellent passing play and a drive to win... 

With Penzance sporting some of their 1s team made the initial set a nervey one but  a goal in the first 5 minutes by Kirsty Merrin from a short corner soon settled any nerves. Caradon had the lio share of the pressure, with Penzance entrentched deep into their half lapping up the pressure from Caradon. This pressure resulted in a beautifully worked run and goal by newbie Nan Jones 2 - 0 Caradon amd we were settling into our game. 

Caradon had a few more chances from short conrers than were just marginally wide and the pressure mounted from a determined Penzance who slipped a goal passed our goal keeper Anna Gubbins 2 - 1. The play continues end to end, with chances by Penzances to level the score before going off for half time but a lovely series of passes by Caradon could not deny Kirsty Merrin her 2nd goal from an awesome pass by Neve Hunn, touch from Natalie Ridger and in it went 3 -1 into the half time socially distanced huddle... 

A focussed team talk from Poady - Release the ball, Trust each other, spread the ball wide and we were off into the 2nd half 3 -1 and a feeling we had more goals in us. A fantastic drive down the right by Izzy Headley a slip into the middle and a near miss by Nanal Jones. Followed by an awesome passage of play ' a team goal'. A intercept by Katie Fear who made 3 Penzance players look like amatuers, slipping a lovely ball out wide which came back into Erryn Locket who looked up saw Nan running to the top of the D - pass and a great strike by Nan from the top of the D GOOOOAAAALLLLLL... 4 - 1 and the team are on fire.... 

FInal 15 mins of the match saw Caradon waste a few chances from short corners just wide and a few near misses from our forwards Kirsty, Nan and Erryn. Final minute of the match saw Caradon awarded a short corner, full team up to the goal. A touch by every player it seemed as the ball was passed around the infront of the goal and a well timed slip found Nat near the penalty spot who smashed the 5th goal into the roof of the net... 5 - 1. Top performance by the ladies 3s, newly promoted into Trelawney 1 and we are here to prove our right to be in this league. Man of the match goes to Neve Hunn this week, a well played game at mainly right back who attacked and controlled the line awesomely.
