Women's 2nd XI Vs Caradon 3s

Another meeting for Caradon’s 2nd and 3rd teams, this time for the first league game of the season.

The 2nd team started strongly, but every angle of attack was thwarted by the 3s defence, who soaked up the pressure time after time.

As the first half drew to an end, a ball around the back from Rachael Spencer to Claire Brown found Helen Manley in midfield, who slipped it under her arm to Vanessa Scott to pick up and expertly flick it on her reverse stick over the diving keeper.

The second half saw the 3rd team sneak a couple of break away chances, with relentless running from Erryn Lockett and Kirsty Merrin, but outstanding saves from 2s goalkeeper Lynn Oxenham denied them. 

Caradon 2s confidence grew as the game progessed and their second goal came after some slick passes in midfield found Ellen Spencer on the right, who ran the line and released an absolute belter of a cross to find 2s debutant Emma Gliddon waiting to pop it in at the far post.

The 2nd team are looking forward to continuing this confidence next week, when they face Plymouth Marjons 3s away.
