Match Report | Caradon travelled to Plymouth Marjons for a pre season friendly and won the game comfortably 2-0. Using this opportunity to trail a few new players to the squad the team lacked its usual fluidity, but as the game continued multiple chances on goaL were created. Charlie Harris and Katie Jones linked well on the left and were pushing hard towards the circle but it was retuning player, Liv Childs who broke the deadlock after a late run into the circle from midfield, found space to convert Clare Poad's pass. Marjons were under constant pressure and were lucky to keep the score line to 0-1 at half time. Bizzie Dinnis saw her fierce reverse strike hit the upright after a beautiful team move. The second half continued in much the same way, plenty of caradon attack with penalty corners failed to be converted. Beth Harris controlled the centre of the pitch leaving the defence with little to do. Fleur Worden and youngster Emma Gliddon both had solid games, with Gliddon being awarded player of the match for a inspiring debut. The second goal eventually arrived after play in a congested circle, the loose ball fell to Childs who bullied the ball over the line. Next week, Caradon look forward to returning to Cornwall cup duties when the face last years winners, Newquay in the semi final. |
